Job Description

Essential Responsibilities


  • Government Contracting & Compliance: Serve as the primary lead for the review, interpretation, and negotiation of U.S. Government-specific contract requirements. Ensure full compliance with FAR/DFARS, agency-specific provisions, flow-down requirements, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Risk Mitigation & Contract Strategy: Lead the negotiation and redlining of complex commercial agreements (including MSAs, Teaming Agreements, MOUs, and NDAs). Analyze and mitigate legal, contractual, execution, and operational risks to ensure terms are executable and aligned with business objectives. Identify, develop, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory & Security Oversight: Evaluate and manage complex compliance obligations, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, export controls, and government-mandated cybersecurity requirements.
  • Risk Governance & Approval: Own the Risk Assessment Management (RAM) process. Build and operate Risk Review sessions that engage cross-functional experts (Legal, Finance, Tax, EHS, Security) to secure leadership alignment on high-stakes proposals.
  • Strategic Commercial Support: Partner with Sales and Tendering teams to provide clear, actionable guidance on contract structures. Translate complex contractual requirements into clear business strategies to maximize margin while protecting the organization from excessive liability.
  • Operational Excellence & Change Management: Drive the development of standardized contract templates and commercial models. Challenge existing processes to reduce cycle times and costs, and conduct proposal post-mortems to refine future risk mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a key resource for the business, influencing cross-functional stakeholders and ensuring a seamless, compliant handover of signed contracts to the Order-to-Remittance (OTR) execution teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10–15+ years of experience in government contracts, contract management, commercial risk mitigation, and bid development and management.
  • Government Expertise: Demonstrated professional experience in U.S. Government contracting with the USG and/or major defense contractor, including advanced knowledge of FAR/DFARS, CMMC/NIST compliance, federal acquisition processes, and the ability to efficiently and effectively research such requirements. Advanced understanding of Government contracting requirements.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of varied contract types (Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Reimbursement).
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce/SPEAK4GE) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with managing multiple contract negotiations simultaneously across diverse product lines, coordinating cross-functional inputs to ensure timely contractual terms review.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $108,600.00 and $181,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
