The Role
Role Profile

Part of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), LCH is a leading clearing house, serving major international exchanges and platforms, as well as a range of OTC markets. In particular, LCH is a leading CCP in Equity and Repurchase agreement (Repo) businesses, providing clearing services for most European Government debts (refinancing/repo transactions) and Equities trading venues (Exchanges and MTFs). 

LCH works closely with market participants to identify and develop innovative clearing solutions.

As part of the RepoClear, EquityClear and CALM Business lines, the Risk Quant and Change team is accountable for:

  • Defining margin algorithms (Pricing models, risk models and parameter calibration) in a standard consistent with EMIR regulation and LCH internal policies
  • Getting approvals from a variety of internal/external partners for new products/models
  • Writing Business requirement for IT teams
  • Developing and implementing quantitative solutions 
  • Prototyping and testing (UAT)
  • Setting documentation standards and frameworks for the FLR team covering procedure, methodology, regulatory and risk governance documentation

A sound and efficient margin algorithm is crucial in both meeting the risk standards of the company and making the service appealing from a trading perspective.

The department is looking to redesign its risk models in partnership with other services (RCL SA for repos), enhance the product offering and strengthen its operational excellence through a solid documentation control process.

We are seeking for Senior manager to join our London team. The candidate will lead commercial initiatives and tackle them through risk governance, present to the relevant regulators, provide subject matter expertise in project implementation, assist with the design of new risk methodologies and maintain a high standard of documentation and operational process.

Key Responsibilities

Senior Quantitative Risk Manager Role:

  • Lead the development and execution of commercial initiatives and getting approval from a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product team to identify new business opportunities and act as the risk expert. 
  • Prototyping pricing and margin algorithms addressing various types of risk and financial products.
  • Collaborate with risk teams to evaluate, review and improve exitsting models, incorporating market trends and internal needs.
  • Provide guidance on risk models usage and act as a key of contact for the business on all queries regarding the understanding of the methodologies.
  • Ensure all processes and methodologies are thoroughly documented, maintained and updated to reflect best practices.
  • Oversee the quality of all documentation related to projects and risk management processes ensuring consistency, clarity and compliance with internal standards.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and the quality of FLR documents providing feedback and revisions when necessary.
  •  Act as the primary liaison between Paris and London teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment in key objectives.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • The role reports directly into the head of RepoClear, EquityClear and CALM Risk Quant and Change team head. 
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
  • Degree or equivalent finance/quantitative finance, mathematics, computer science-related disciplines, preferably a Masters’ degree or PHD or equivalent experience,
  • Computational skills (SQL, R, Python, VBA) and good numerical competency.
  • 10+ years experience in a quantitative or risk role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid critical thinking
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to articulate complex concepts through concise and clear information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Hard-working and able to work both independently and collaboratively as a part of a global team
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and have effective time management.
  • Cross-organisation collaboration skills required.
  • Highly motivated with commitment to excellence
