Peraton seeks a Senior Risk Advisor/Technical Writer to join our Mission Assurance and Operations Research Analysis (MA/ORSA) team in support of the Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).
Location: Fort Meade, Maryland.
Working as expert to assist DCDC understand, identify, assess, and managing risks effecting the secure operation and defensibility of cyberspace, inclusive of DoD intelligence systems, missions support systems, weapon systems, new technology, capabilities, networks, cyber physical system, control systems, cloud environments, data stores, etc.
Supports operations research analysis for intelligence, cyberspace operations, contingency operations, and operational-level planning, joint and multilateral training exercises, and strategic engagement policy. Helps analyze actual and predictable, interacting, operational activities of systems to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques.
Helps other research analysts devise modeling and measuring techniques to investigate complex issues and solve problems. Assists in addressing requirements and the evaluation of data assessment strategies: sampling, statistical analysis, evaluation, flow processing, and management assessment strategies. Assists with developing cost-benefit analysis, data collection, data analysis, risk analysis, simulation model execution, economic analysis, and operational effectiveness studies.
Job Duties:
- Prepare charts and diagrams to assist in metrics analysis and problem evaluation, and submit recommendations for data mining and analytical solutions
- Create Trend Analysis Reports and other periodic documents in coordination with the ORSA team
- Perform documentation and vetting of identified vulnerabilities for operational use
- Define and aggregate risk across the breadth and depth of the Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC)
- Participate and prepare battle rhythm events and products that incorporate operational variables such as cyber, Political, Military, Economic, Social, Information, Infrastructure, Physical Environment and Time (PMESII-PT) and mission related variables such as Mission, Enemy, Troops, Terrain, Time, and Civil Considerations (METT-TC) to determine an overall risk to identified for all defense critical missions, and other critical mission areas, by DAO and sector
- Produces high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials
Required:
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; 7 years PhD. Will consider +14 Associate or HS plus 16 years of experience.
- Experience with writing studies that answer senior leader questions; provide analysis, risks, and options; and support decision making
- Minimum five years of experience as an Operations Planner in cyberspace operations: must be able to support operations research analysis for intelligence, cyberspace operations, contingency operations, and operational-level planning, joint and multilateral training exercises, and strategic engagement policy
- Technical writing experience: must be able to provide input -- and produce -- briefings, charts and diagrams assisting in the coordination of operational planning in support of operations
- Experienced in monitoring and reviewing strategies, doctrine, policies, and directives to ensure compliance
- Must have a full, complete, and in-depth understanding of all aspects of Defensive Cyberspace Operations
- Must be fluent in all aspects of government and corporate communications media to include all MS Office products and common task ticketing systems
- Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders in a variety of formats
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work periodically on shift to assist the team
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance or the ability to obtain SCI

- Specialized Certifications-- One of DoD IAT II or higher (SSCP, CCNA-Security, GSEC, Security+ CE)

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
