The Role

We've achieved proven product-market fit with a user experience that solves real-world customer pain and unlocks new capabilities. We are expanding our Finance team to support this growth!

This role will be based in our Raleigh, North Carolina HQ and we work in a hybrid model with we work in a hybrid model with 3 days (M,W,F) in the office, and we have a high in-office culture.

What you will do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Relay products and the order-to-cash cycle in order to review customer contracts for ASC 606 considerations
  • Responsible for the monthly revenue recognition journal entries and preparation of the deferred revenue reconciliations
  • Document, update and refine the Company’s revenue recognition policy as well as participate in continuous improvements to further scale and streamline our revenue process 
  • Work closely with the Billing team to prepare monthly collections analysis and A/R allowance calculation
  • Assist the Revenue Accounting Manager in performing technical accounting research related to revenue accounting issues or other topics as needed
  • Prepare and review of workpapers and supporting schedules in responsible areas for audits and other due diligence preparation
  • Work closely with FP&A to ensure and gain alignment on the calculation of internally tracked and reporting of revenue and revenue related metrics and KPIs
  • Participate and contribute in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close activities and reporting
  • Assist other team members on a project-by-project basis and other various accounting projects as assigned

What you will have:

  • 2+ years of general ledger accounting, public accounting, or relevant experience
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other relevant field
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP as well as accounting and financial processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and execute autonomously close deadlines
  • Flexibility with the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment

What would be preferred: 

  • CPA designation or currently pursuing a CPA
  • Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition and experience in revenue accounting
  • Experience with accounting at a SaaS company
  • Experience with working in NetSuite
