The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 or relevant accounting standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze revenue-related financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Audit Support: Assist in both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to streamline revenue accounting processes and enhance internal controls.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure proper revenue recognition and support business initiatives.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional Certification: Must possess CA or CPA certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in revenue accounting or a related field.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards: Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and experience with ASC 606 or IFRS 15.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite and Maxio experience preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the technology or SaaS industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and revenue recognition tools.
- Experience with SEC reporting (for US-based roles).
