JOB SUMMARY
This position is the lead statistician for a team focused on supporting scholarly research primarily using administrative (e.g., healthcare claims, medical records) and public data sources. This position involves handling data cleaning, transformation, and analysis for multiple projects at once with any level of complexity and will serve as the primary contact with the Primary Investigator (PI) team for all biostatistics-related activities and communications on assigned projects. The latter includes, but is not limited to, preparation of results and all associated materials for manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals. This position involves engagement with physicians, healthcare business leaders, and others who have varied levels of background in research methods and/or statistics; as such, the ability to clearly translate complex design, data, and analytic concepts is critical in this role.
Beyond team operations, the senior research statistician also serves as an enterprise and team resource for complex statistical questions, study design considerations, and protocol development. The statistician will also be expected to help contribute to the team’s development of research and analytic resources (e.g., identification and organization of relevant methodology papers; development of code templates and scripts).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Writes and reviews statistical analysis plans (SAPs) based on the protocol, including development of well-presented mock-up displays for tables, listings, and figures. Creates or reviews programming specifications for analysis datasets, tables, listings, figures, and presentations.
- Conducts and participates in review and quality control of project deliverables, ensuring that output meets expectations and is consistent with analysis described in SAP.
- Presents analyses to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducts literature reviews related to analyses. Prepares manuscripts for publication.
- Mentors and advises junior research statisticians.
- Discusses time estimates for completion of study-related activities with stakeholders and management and proactively communicates to management any difficulties with meeting these timelines. Monitors progress on study activities against agreed upon milestones and ensures the study timelines for project deliverables are met. Identifies out of scope tasks and escalates to management.
- Participates in project teams, interfacing as necessary with other departmental project team representatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required
- Master's degree in analytics, health services research, epidemiology, or biostatistics with 3 years of Statistical Analysis - OR-
- Bachelor's degree in analytics, health services research, epidemiology, or biostatistics with 6 years of Statistical Analysis -OR
- 3 years in Statistical Analysis
Preferred
- Doctorate in analytics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or biostatistics
- Experience as lead and/or coauthor for published, peer-reviewed manuscripts
- Knowledge of and experience in causal inference approaches (e.g., propensity score matching, inverse probability weighting, DiD) for a variety of observational research designs, preferably demonstrated in scientific publications
- Experience analyzing large datasets based on health insurance claims and/or medical records data using statistical software
- Statistical consultative experience or working as a statistician on a multidisciplinary team(s)

Pay Range Minimum:
$94,200.00Pay Range Maximum:
$151,000.00Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.
