About the Opportunity
Performs basic or applied research on critical or difficult problems involving the development of new theories or methodologies. Budget management responsibility. Participates in external professional activities (i.e., publication of research, attendance/participation in professional conferences). Exercises functional and administrative management over supporting research staff and conduct training as required.
The Senior Research Scientist will work in a grant-funded position, developing new computational methods and software for artificial intelligence-assisted integration of biomedical data and knowledge-driven data interpretation. The Senior Research Scientist will develop new methods, guide and contribute to their implementation as open source scientific software, and develop domain-relevant applications in biomedicine to benchmark and showcase these methods. The Senior Research Scientist is also expected to contribute to publications and presentations describing the project, and contribute to conceiving and writing grants. The position will allow for a non-full-time and remote work arrangement.

Qualifications:
Prior experience which includes progressively more responsible, independent research work evidenced by publications, inventions, or equivalent efforts; demonstrated project management experience, including supervisory, budgetary, and general administrative skills. Must be able to lead full-time research or scholarship team. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent with at least five plus years of related experience.
The Senior Research Scientist must have a PhD or equivalent and have extensive experience in leading and contributing to computational biology projects with a track record of peer reviewed scientific publications and conference or seminar presentations. Technical expertise required includes application of bioinformatics methods such as for the analysis of transcriptomics and proteomics data, and machine learning applications for data interpretation, in particular causal and predictive models of cellular behavior at the molecular level.

$86,488.00 - $122,163.25
