The Senior Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for reporting and analysis for ceded and assumed reinsurance. Strong reconciliation skills required for validation of ceded payable and assumed recoverable/payable. Provides necessary support for monthly close process, manage assigned accounts, special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Calculate and validate ceded reinsurance premiums in reinsurance system.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly bordereaux to report ceded premiums and losses to reinsurers.
- Review reinsurer premium invoices and validate amounts due.
- Manages cash and research discrepancies.
- Resolves payment discrepancies with underwriters and reinsurers.
- Process ceded payments and apply cash receipts in reinsurance as needed.
- Manage assumed book of business, including entry into the reinsurance system, and cash management
- Liaise with other Reinsurance Accounting team members as well as members as members of the Underwriting and Claims departments.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5-7 years of related insurance and reinsurance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of current principles and practices of reinsurance, claims and accounting functions.
