Role: Senior Regulatory Accountant

We are looking for a qualified Senior Regulatory Accountant to support the Financial Controller Asia Pac in financial operations of MS Amlin Underwriting Limited Asia Pac – this includes business booked in the Syndicate 2001. This role is essential for preparing and submitting accurate regulatory returns and other reporting to the MAS, whilst managing internal controls. This role is a key part of the Singapore Finance Team who have a reporting line into the London Syndicate Finance Operations team. This role has accountability for the accuracy and completeness of the regulatory reporting outcomes of the Singapore business supporting the Financial Controller Asia Pac
About The Job
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
To assist to monitor the progress of various reporting deadlines
Prepare the monthly Hong Kong Core Market Returns
Prepare the quarterly Labuan Financial Services Authority Returns and External Asset Liability Report, including variance analysis.
Prepare the quarterly MAS Returns, including variance analysis.
To assist with the preparation of any reports that are required by Management, Group, Lloyds Asia or the Regulators.
To ensure that regulatory reporting outcomes are reconciled to the financial reporting outcomes including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Collaborate and ensure you are effectively involved and engaged in the overall Transformation activities to help deliver the target operating model for Finance.
Ensure the effective use of Oracle ledger for Singapore and Australia branch as a support for the Regulatory reporting returns
Financial Controls & Governance:
Establish and maintain robust internal controls over regulatory reporting and broader risk management.
Work with our internal audit function and liaise with external auditors to facilitate year-end audits.
Team Contribution:
Guide and manage junior accountants in their day-to-day activities and help to develop into better accountants
Collaborate and help drive a high-performance culture within the finance team.
Strategic Financial Planning:
Remain alert to all Regulatory changes that impact the Singapore business.
Remain alert to broader industry changes that would affect the way in which the Syndicate’s or management company’s accounting or business records are kept.
What you’ll need:
Some essential qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies for this role include:
Essential:
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• A minimum significant relevant experience in a regulatory reporting role, preferably within the insurance or
financial services industry.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements specific to the
insurance sector.
• Experience in managing and developing team members.
• Good financial and commercial acumen
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, accounting systems, ERP).
Desirable:
• Experience working within a Lloyd's of London insurance environment.
• Knowledge of IFRS 17 and other insurance-specific accounting standards.
• Familiarity with insurance risk management and capital allocation principles
