Domain Specific Skills:
- Experience with rear body design, architecture, packaging, and studio integration.
- Ability to define interfaces between closures, cladding, axle, thermal, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of design improvements driven by field lessons learned and maintenance requirements.
- Ability to align engineering solutions with design studio and vehicle integration teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define component and system engineering requirements.
- Create and develop engineering designs and concepts.
- Perform packaging, tolerance, and feasibility studies.
- Develop CAD models, drawings, and engineering releases.
- Support CAE, prototype builds, testing, Sourcing and validation activities.
- Resolve design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues.
- Collaborate with Internal cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Manage engineering changes and documentation.
- Proven background in concept-to-production vehicle development and problem-solving
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5y+ years of automotive/commercial vehicle engineering experience within relevant domain.
- 3y+ CAD Surfacing experience (CATIA 3Dx, 3D Experience or V5).
- GD&T and tolerance analysis
- DFMA & Serviceability principles.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
