We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior R&D Engineer (f/m/d) MOSFET & IGBT with a strong background in chip development and semiconductor physics. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently managing their work within established company procedures and contributing to the structured problem-solving efforts of the team using advanced tools such as TCAD simulations. You will report directly to the Technology Development Manager in Lampertheim.
About the Position:Lead and contribute to chip development projects, from concept to implementation.
Apply deep knowledge of semiconductor physics to solve complex technical challenges.
Independently plan, execute, and document R&D activities in alignment with company processes.
Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies and simulation tools (e.g., TCAD) to analyze and optimize device performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, process, and reliability teams.
Support junior engineers by providing technical guidance and mentoring in problem-solving approaches
Successfully completed PhD in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in chip development or semiconductor R&D.
Strong theoretical and practical understanding of semiconductor physics.
Proficiency in simulation tools such as TCAD (Synopsys, Silvaco, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt to structured workflows.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in mentoring or coaching junior engineers is preferred.
Familiarity with DOE (Design of Experiments) and statistical analysis tools.
Knowledge of reliability, failure analysis in semiconductor devices, power semiconductor circuits and characterizations is a plus.
