Senior Quality Engineer – Cloud Applications & Test Automation

The Revenue Optimization Team is expanding as we modernize our platforms and move to cloud-native architectures. We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer who brings strong hands-on testing and automation expertise, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to own test strategy and execution for complex cloud-based applications.
This role is ideal for an experienced QE who can independently drive quality for features and services, while working closely with Lead Quality Engineers and development teams.
Responsibilities
Quality Engineering & Test Design
- Quickly understanding the products, also from business/workflow/dataflow perspective
- Owning high level tests (playwright, sanity, etc.) - maintain, follow up with teams on failures, etc.
- Analyze defect leakage reasons and take action (automation opportunities, process improvements, etc.)
- Work across multiple teams to look at holistic quality of the product
- Help with release management (understand what is in scope, how each of items in scope is tested, how it's managed by feature flags)
- Drive integration testing initiatives with other modules and products
- Collaborate with delivery team on scenarios gathering
- Plan and run regression tests, coordinate this with teams
- Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing for cloud-native applications and APIs.
- Ensure test coverage across E2E, regression, negative, and exploratory testing.
- Validate data flows and business logic across services and databases.
Test Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks and scripts for web, API, and backend services.
- Build automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST API automation frameworks.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
- Actively improve automation coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Identify gaps in automation and propose new automated tests layers
Cloud & Platform Testing
- Test applications deployed on cloud platforms (GCP preferred), including containerized and microservices-based systems.
- Validate non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, resiliency, and security.
- Participate in testing cloud-native features like auto-scaling, failover, and multi-environment deployments.
Defect Management & Collaboration
- Identify, analyze, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
- Work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Platform teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Participate in design and requirement discussions to shift quality left in the development lifecycle.
- Support production issue analysis and root cause investigations when required.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute ideas to improve testing processes, tools, and frameworks.
- Mentor junior Quality Engineers through reviews, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering and testing.
Testing & Automation Skills
- Strong experience in manual and automated testing of web, API, and backend applications.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, or similar.
- Experience testing microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
- Solid experience with API testing (REST/JSON, Postman, REST Assured, or similar).
Cloud & DevOps
- Experience testing applications deployed on public cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable).
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
Data & Tools
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation and test execution.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC.
Soft Skills

Qualifications
