Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Actively oversee and participate in the delivery and best practice by designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automation/functional test solutions across the WNZL landscape using the most appropriate tool set, and 'best practice' techniques and agile quality engineering practices.
Providing thought leadership and peer reviews across the WNZL community in regards to design and implementation of testing strategies & solutions and up-skilling and training of peers regardless of discipline
• Actively participate in the overall delivery, in line with broader technology and business strategies
• Review requirements/user stories and technical documentation, participate and drive workshops to ensure understanding and design of test scenarios
• Educate the wider Business Area on quality and the benefits of different types of testing, ensuring best practice
• Mentor, coach and support peers and less experienced members of the Business Area
• Actively engage in the Quality Engineering community to learn and grow and share knowledge and bring others on the journey
• Maintain oversight of and actively support test delivery to ensure we deliver value to our Customers
• Proactively give demonstrations/Show & Tells
• Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of role and as required by senior leadership
• Provide ‘Best Practice’ oversight and input into the selection, evaluation and implementation of test tools and utilities
• Work with other Engineers to promote the capture and reuse of unit test level scripts, test stubs and drivers and other development test objects
• Provide ongoing through leadership and technical guidance re the practical application and technical tools

• Strong programming skills: Java/ JavaScipt/Python/
• Experience in UI and API automation testing using Selenium, RestSharp/ RestAssured or similar.
• Understanding of CI/CD delivery pipelines like Jenkins, AzureDevops
• Experience with Playwright
• TDD/ BDD experience
• Proven experience in the design, implementation, and execution of automated test strategies and solutions
• Strong testing background in an Agile/DevOps delivery environment Experience of coaching, training and providing quality reviews for less experienced test engineers (and the wider Technology community where required)
Skills Required
