The Role

Overview:

Are you a stickler for data integrity with a knack for modernizing legacy systems?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead critical testing initiatives for the State of Florida’s financial systems. In this role, you won’t just find bugs; you will safeguard the integrity of financial data moving between massive internal warehouses and external partners. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing Oracle-based applications and ensuring seamless integration with Florida PALM and FLAIR.

If you are a seasoned tester who loves digging into complex data flows, PL/SQL logic, and automation frameworks, we want to meet you.
Note: This role is intended to work onsite in Tallahassee, FL. Hybrid schedules will be entertained for successful candidates.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will drive the quality strategy for high-impact financial applications. You will be responsible for:

Ensuring Data Trust: Validate complex ETL processes, ensuring data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded across databases and third-party APIs.
Modernization Assurance: Lead the testing efforts as we refactor legacy Oracle Forms and APEX applications, improving performance and maintainability.
System Integration: Manage the quality lifecycle for integrations with critical state systems like Florida PALM and FLAIR.
Automation & Strategy: Configure test automation tools (Selenium, JMeter) and define the roadmap for our QA methodologies.

Technical Capabilities:

Testing Core: Functional, Regression, Performance, and Integration testing.
Tech Stack: Oracle WebLogic, Oracle APEX, PL/SQL, Selenium, JMeter.
Process: Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, and Defect Management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: 8+ years in software quality assurance with a deep understanding of the full STLC.
Technical Chops: Strong hands-on experience with automated test suites and performance testing. You aren't afraid to look at the code (PL/SQL) to find the root cause.
Data Mindset: You have a proven track record of validating data integrity, mapping transformation rules, and testing ETL processes.
Compliance Savvy: Familiarity with PCI standards and secure application development best practices.
Communication: You can translate complex technical deficiencies into clear, actionable reports for stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Government/Public Sector environments (State of Florida experience is a major plus).
Knowledge of RESTful services testing and API validation.
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in CS/IS or relevant certifications (ISTQB, CSQA).
