Literally everything humans build, grow, or sell has spent time on a truck. Local trucking is the lifeblood of every regional economy, and yet this $82 billion industry still relies heavily on phone calls and fax machines. Cargomatic is transforming the way goods move around every local node in the supply chain by connecting shippers and commercial truck drivers with mobile technology. We are solving complex, real-world problems every day, and giving full transparency to the shipping process.

Cargomatic is seeking a highly hands-on Senior Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and passionate about delivering high-quality software. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and test planning to execution, automation, and production validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute software quality assurance strategies for modern web and mobile applications, including React-based web interfaces and Android/iOS mobile platforms.
  • Perform a combination of manual and automated testing using industry-standard tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright for web, and Appium for mobile applications.
  • Ensure front-end and back-end functionality through end-to-end testing workflows.
  • Validate API endpoints and their integration using Postman and RestAssured.
  • Conduct performance benchmarking and load testing using tools like JMeter and k6 to evaluate application scalability under varying user loads. Identify, log, and track software defects using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), and collaborate closely with developers and product teams to drive resolution.
  • Develop and maintain reusable test automation frameworks for Android apps using Appium and JavaScript/Java, with occasional iOS testing support.
  • Execute regression testing across various mobile devices and OS versions to ensure consistent behavior and compatibility. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI to facilitate faster and more reliable software releases.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure alignment between QA activities and product goals.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices to ensure comprehensive test coverage and compliance with software quality standards.
  • Review product requirements and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing to ensure consistent user experience across environments.
  • Conduct mobile device compatibility testing across various screen sizes and operating systems.
  • Use Android Studio and Xcode for debugging and log analysis during mobile test cycles.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on production issues and contribute to preventive testing strategies.
  • Create test data and use SQL queries to validate backend data integrity.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide QA sign-off for production releases.
  • Develop internal documentation and QA best practices to ensure team knowledge retention and process improvements.
  • Train and mentor junior QA engineers in automation scripting and testing methodologies.
  • Must live within reasonable commuting distance from SF office and able to appear in office as required.

Requirements:
