The Work You'll Do:

At Sovos, we're building the technology that powers global tax compliance for half of the Fortune 500 and thousands of businesses worldwide. As a Senior QA Engineer, you'll be the guardian of quality—ensuring our software solutions meet the highest standards before reaching customers who rely on us for mission-critical compliance.

You'll design comprehensive test strategies, drive automation initiatives, and collaborate closely with developers to build quality into every stage of the development lifecycle. More specifically, you will:

• Build collaborative partnerships within your Scrum Team while serving as a quality advisor to the Product Manager and development team
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications and APIs
• Lead automation testing initiatives using modern frameworks and tools to increase test coverage and efficiency
• Champion a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and shift-left testing practices throughout the department
• Conduct thorough functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across full-stack applications
• Collaborate with developers to review requirements, identify potential issues early, and define acceptance criteria
• Validate front-end functionality across browsers and devices, ensuring consistent user experience
• Test back-end services including REST/SOAP APIs, database operations, and data integrity
• Create and maintain automated test suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Troubleshoot, document, and track defects through resolution, performing root cause analysis
• Author and maintain test documentation including test strategies, test results, and quality metrics reports
• Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to the evolution of QA best practices

What We Need From You

• 5+ years of proven success in software quality assurance and testing
• Strong experience testing .NET web applications and full-stack ASP.NET MVC solutions
• Proficiency with test automation frameworks (Selenium, SpecFlow, NUnit, or similar)
• Experience with Visual Studio, .NET ecosystem, and C# for test automation development
• Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, JSON, and Ajax
• Experience testing REST/SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar
• Database testing experience with SQL Server, including ability to write and validate Transact-SQL queries, stored procedures, and data integrity checks
• Experience with version control using Git/GitHub
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps workflows
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar) is a plus
• Experience testing applications deployed in Azure is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate quality risks and testing status clearly
• Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Self-motivated with strong time and project management skills
• Comfort working within an Agile development process
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire
