Roles & Responsibilities
Own end-to-end functional, regression, and exploratory testing across iOS and Android.
Build and maintain automated test suites (Appium, XCUITest, Espresso) in CI/CD pipelines.
Test API integrations and use network proxy tools (Charles Proxy, Wireshark) to diagnose issues
Build test plans for onboarding, cognitive training/assessment flows, and subscription mechanics.
Own App Store and Play Store submissions end-to-end: metadata, screenshots, privacy labels, age ratings, subscription/paywall compliance, handling rejections
Validate German-language UI/UX as the primary market experience
Execute verification and validation per IEC 62304 with documented test protocols and bidirectional traceability from requirements through risk controls to test results
Work within an ISO 13485 QMS: formal defect classification tied to ISO 14971 hazard analysis, CAPA workflow, root-cause analysis
Maintain audit-ready test records. Every test execution is a controlled record that holds up to inspection years later
Allocate test depth by residual risk, not feature popularity. Verify risk control measures themselves, not just the features they protect
Support IEC 62366 usability validation with representative users, including cognitively impaired populations
Assess every change for impact on risk, requirements, validation, and regulatory status. No silent hotfixes
Validate GDPR and DiGA-specific data protection requirements (DiGAV §8). Security controls are tested with the same rigor as clinical features
Flag German in-app or marketing copy that reads as a medical claim for Legal/RA review (HWG compliance)
Support post-market surveillance: reproduce field issues against controlled builds, feed defect trends back into risk management
Act as quality advocate within the team. Partner with Dev, Product, and Neuroscience
Required Skillset :
Native or C1+ German fluency, strong professional English
5+ years mobile QA experience across iOS and Android
Hands-on with mobile automation, API testing, and CI/CD
Deep understanding of iOS/Android platform guidelines and OS-level behaviors
Prior experience in a regulated software environment: medical device, health tech, pharma, automotive safety-critical, or similar. You understand traceability, formal documentation, and audit-readiness as a mindset, not a checklist
Comfort operating within formal QMS processes, not just agile sprint QA
Working knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, or ISO 13485
Familiarity with DiGA, EU MDR, or FDA SaMD
Experience with IEC 62366 usability validation
Prior involvement in a BfArM DiGA or similar regulatory submission
ISTQB Advanced Level certification
Experience with subscription-based health/wellness apps
What We Offer
External regulatory consultants to guide you through the DiGA-specific requirements. You won't be the only one on the regulatory curve.
A product where QA is the gateway to certification, not a release gate. Your evidence work directly enables the market path.
Competitive compensation.

Peak Med is a cognitive health app built for DiGA certification in Germany. DiGA is the regulatory pathway that allows doctors to prescribe the app and statutory health insurers to reimburse it. This is a Class I medical device under EU MDR, not a wellness app. QA here produces audit-ready evidence that the product is safe, performs as intended, manages its risks, and protects patient data across the product's full lifecycle.
We are hiring a Senior QA Engineer, fluent in German, to own quality across iOS and Android. You'll start with what you know: mobile functional, regression, automation, app store. Then you'll grow into the regulated QA framework that DiGA demands: the IEC 62304 lifecycle, the ISO 13485 QMS, the ISO 14971 risk-based testing, and the IEC 62366 usability validation. External regulatory consultants will support you on the regulatory learning curve. Your job is to own the evidence.
Germany is the primary market. German-language UI/UX is the experience you're validating, not a translation layer to check after the fact.
