Scope of role
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will ensure a high-quality product is delivered to our customers while driving through improvements to our QA capability, you will report to the SIT Team Lead in our Makati office. The software product QA team have the responsibility of delivering improvements, influencing colleagues and implementing manual and automated tests. The team is part of the wider Engineering team which is a global team with main hubs in Manila, Sweden, Spain, UK and North America.
The Makati office is growing, and we are looking for Engineers that want to be part of a successful team building software products and working with the latest technologies.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will:
- Develop automated and manual tests against those detailed user stories and designs.
- Focus on automation to support Continuous Delivery to our customers.
- Define and deliver QA strategic improvements and capabilities.
- Build expertise in important QA areas, for example performance or security testing.
- Build expertise on our products and promote its high quality.
- Deliver quality software to our customers.
- Improve the testing approach of user stories through refinement and technical designs.
- Ensure Engineering deliverables meet the needs of our customers and are thoroughly tested.
- Validate engineering estimates and timescales.
- Maintain current technical user documentation.
- Maintain the software on an ongoing basis.
- Communicate with our customer success team to help troubleshoot/verifying customer raised defects.
- Setup database environments.
- At least 7 years of comprehensive experience in QA practices, encompassing automation, functional testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
- Proficient in coding test automation using object-oriented programming languages such as Java.
- Experience developing tooling and scripts to streamline daily activities, including provisioning, installing, and configuring systems.
- Proficiency in working within Linux environments, including scripting and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in testing environments.
- Hands-on experience implementing automation frameworks from the ground up, or the ability to conduct research and development to solve complex testing challenges.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, from planning to testing and deployment.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, with the ability to manage code repositories.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments, with an understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
- Awareness of Continuous Delivery principles and best practices, with the ability to test during the delivery process.
Experience in the following is favorable (but not required):
- Exposure to Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Experience in Groovy Scripting
- Proficiency in utilizing Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment processes.
