Pursuit Manager, Investments
We are seeking an experienced Pursuit Manager to join Mercer’s Investments Sales team. Based in Melbourne or Sydney (hybrid with minimum three days per week in the office), you will lead pursuit strategy and delivery for key opportunities, own the development and maintenance of high‑quality proposal and meeting materials, and partner with sales, investment teams and Design to improve win rates through clear messaging, repeatable content and efficient processes. In this central team you will enhance your knowledge and understanding of an entire range of investment topics like private markets investing, ESG investing, capital markets, and more.
Key responsibilities
- Lead pursuit strategy and execution for identified opportunities: develop opportunity plans, schedules, win themes and action trackers that align to client needs and Mercer’s value proposition.
- Own end‑to‑end content delivery: create, edit, customise and maintain centralised modular assets and investment content to enable rapid, consistent tailoring.
- Project‑manage pursuits through the full lifecycle: coordinate contributors, manage deadlines and ensure timely delivery of polished collateral and meeting materials.
- Partner with sales, investment specialists and Design to ensure content is high quality, accurate, aligned to pursuit strategy and tailored to the client.
- Create, edit and embed investment content standards, template rules and quality controls to improve consistency and efficiency across pursuits.
- Build and sustain relationships with local practice areas, business development and other stakeholders to capture subject‑matter content and lessons learned.
- Drive continuous improvement in the pursuit processes, central content library, and support knowledge sharing across the team.
Skills, experience and qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in professional services, proposal/pursuit management, sales enablement or client service.
- Existing technical investment experience, able to engage with subject matter experts on meeting the key technical requirements of any proposal.
- Proven experience leading complex pursuits and managing proposal production end‑to‑end.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong ability to craft persuasive messages and executive‑level materials.
- Demonstrable ability to translate technical investment content into clear client messaging.
- Strong project management and organisational skills with experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary contributors under tight timelines.
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to lead without direct authority.
- Experience developing modular content, templates and maintaining centralised content libraries.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) is required.

Skills Required
- 5-7 years' experience in proposal management
- Investments experience in Financial Institutions
- Proficiency in proposal management software (QorusDocs, Seismic)
- Strong Microsoft Office suite skills
- Proven track record managing complex, high-value proposals
- Experience developing client-centric value propositions
- Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and influencing at all organisational levels
- Based in Melbourne or Sydney, hybrid role (minimum three days per week in office)
