Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. This position works without appreciable direction, exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to work.  Collaborative role that works closely with stakeholders, partners, end-users, and functional and technical team members to deliver quality solutions and services.

Essential Duties and responsibilities                                          

  • Develops and implements assigned projects from original concept (customer on-boarding and post-sales cycle) through final implementation (project close), creating and overseeing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resources plans and status reports.
  • Develops and executes best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives including metrics for assessing progress.
  • Sets and manages customer expectations through defined objectives, effective communication, and delivery of results.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages the integration of Wolters Kluwer partner/vendor tasks and tracks and reviews partner/vendor deliverables to ensure services are completed as agreed.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team as necessary.
  • Determines staffing requirements and works in conjunction with the resourcing managers to form project teams to ensure coverage for all essential tasks.
  • Monitors and evaluates project milestones, gathers metrics, and develops and implements change as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Communicate with project sponsor during the project and conducts formal reviews and lessons learned through completion to track and confirm acceptance and satisfaction.
  • Creates/manages project budget to meet expectations and conducts project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization analyses.
  • Review and ensure documentation/deliverables prepared by the internal team are following internal policy.
  • Responsible for communicating with stakeholders, including clients, management, and team members, to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Report, evaluate, mitigate, and resolve risks and issues associated with the projects in a timely fashion, escalating when necessary.
  • Provide and inform key stakeholders on status of project, timeline, budget, change, and key risks.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on the delivery model to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and collaboration.

Job Qualifications

Education

Minimum:   Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Project Management or related field, OR equivalent.

Preferred:  Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, OR similar certifications.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 7+ years of experience in project management or a comparable role involving cross-functional coordination, strategic planning, and execution oversight.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, manage timelines and budgets, and deliver results in dynamic environments.

Tools:

  • Competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
  • Tools and process enabling remote connection to internal systems.
  • Project Management Software.
  • Professional Services Automation platform (Certinia PSA)
  • Salesforce

Travel requirements

Ability to travel when needed, up to 30% domestic travel annually.
