About the opportunity

Join the Faculty of Medicine and Health in a high-impact project role focused on improving how clinical trials are supported, delivered, and standardised across the faculty. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful change by developing harmonised practices, scalable frameworks, and streamlined processes that enhance compliance, reduce administrative burden, and support high-quality research outcomes.

We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to lead a strategic body of work arising from multiple completed landscape analyses across learning and development, quality, and vendor management. This role focuses on designing and implementing frameworks, guidance, and standardised approaches that will be adopted across diverse clinical trial environments.

You will play a key role in aligning practices across the faculty, particularly in areas where clinical trial infrastructure and capability are still developing.

Key Responsibilities

  • lead the development of harmonised clinical trial guidance and practices
  • standardise vendor processes and procedures with an emphasis on gathering feedback from internal stakeholders on vendor ongoing suitability
  • develop clear procedural guidance for working with external vendors
  • review and align clinical trial role position descriptions
  • support development of standardised PD frameworks across HEO levels
  • adapt existing learning and development resources for broader faculty use
  • improve access to clinical trial training and onboarding resources
  • drive consistency, reduce duplication, and streamline administrative processes whilst supporting increased compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • contribute to scalable, self-directed learning pathways

About You

  • strong project management and delivery capability
  • experience in clinical trials, research operations, or higher education
  • demonstrated ability to develop frameworks, procedures, and operational guidance
  • proven stakeholder engagement skills across diverse and complex settings
  • experience in process harmonisation and standardisation
  • understanding of clinical trial operations and GCP compliance
  • excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • ability to work autonomously and lead outcomes

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
