About the Role

Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager wanting to lead value driven projects across New Zealand and Australia while collaborating with teams to deliver results aligned with Bluecurrent’s strategy? Join our dynamic delivery team as a Senior Project Manager to lead large complex, high-value or multiple projects from initiation through to delivery. 

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects with full autonomy, from business case through to implementation and post-project review. 
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, decisions and dependencies. 
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners. 
  • Drive governance and reporting, ensuring transparency and clearly documented artefacts describing project performance or decisions required to Executives and Senior Leaders. 
  • Ability to interact successfully and confidently with Executives with the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes to meet business needs.
  • Financially astute to manage large project budgets, ensuring governance and financial auditing to ensure cost and contingency management
  • Strong breadth of project management experience to influence different approaches to achieve project outcomes and drive business value
  • Apply best-practice project management methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2, or PMBOK) as appropriate. 
  • Manage vendor relationships, RFP’s, contracts, and performance to ensure delivery of value. 
  • Develop and maintain a benefits realisation plan, ensuring that expected business benefits are identified, tracked, and reported after project delivery to demonstrate measurable value to stakeholders.
  • Ensure project outcomes align with Bluecurrent’s organisational strategy, portfolio priorities, and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead proactive stakeholder engagement and change management to support smooth business transition and adoption of new systems or processes.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and embed lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in project delivery frameworks and practices.
  • Mentor and support junior project managers and coordinators. 

What we are looking for

You will ideally bring a Project Management certification with 10+ years of project management experience, plus at least 3 years' experience as a Senior Project Manager in the financial services, government, telecommunications or technology sectors. 

You have proven experience leading large IT projects like cloud migrations, complex implementations, or infrastructure upgrades and can manage vendors, contracts and budgets.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will bring a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Your communication and stakeholder management skills will be excellent with the ability to present solutions or decision papers and seek key stakeholder buy in, including executive-level engagement.
