PROJECT MANAGER - HASTE

Rocket Lab is accelerating growth by expanding Electron into new markets, including sub-orbital launch opportunities with its cutting-edge variant, HASTE. As Project Manager for HASTE, you’ll lead the charge in driving significant vehicle modifications and mission-specific customer interfaces, ensuring seamless technical delivery. This dynamic role offers the chance to work across global teams, manage resources, and deliver innovative solutions on time. With direct collaboration across stakeholders in New Zealand and the USA, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Rocket Lab’s groundbreaking space programs!


WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • You’ll lead a talented team of world-class engineers, oversee project execution, and flawless on time delivery of one of the most innovative and advanced Hypersonic Test vehicles in the world.
  • This role is pivotal to achieving strategic goals, managing resources, and providing technical programme leadership.
  • You’ll champion best practices, drive operational efficiency, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.
  • Your leadership will set the tone for the team, ensuring deadlines are met, productivity is maximized, and Rocket Lab continues to deliver world-class solutions that redefine space exploration.
  • Develop schedules, budgets, and work breakdown structures for cross-functional HASTE projects in coordination with leadership and global resources.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration by building strong relationships between engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting on schedules, technical risks, KPIs, and financial performance.

 

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of engineering and programme management experience.
  •  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering or a related field.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex technical issues into executive summaries.

 

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Recognised formal programme management qualification
  • Startup company experience
  • Aerospace or high criticality industry experience e.g. medical
  • Familiarity with space systems and satellite technologies
  • Hands on experience in engineering verification and validation processes
