We’re acquiring businesses at pace. Clients are coming with them. Systems, people, timelines, and expectations are all moving fast.
We need a Senior Project Manager who can grab that moving train, organise it, and make sure everyone arrives where they’re meant to, preferably on time and mostly sane.
This role is about owning post-acquisition client migration and integration projects into our existing technology stack. Not just coordinating tasks, but simplifying complexity, keeping momentum, and driving outcomes when the plan changes mid-flight.
About First FocusFirst Focus is Australia’s #1 mid-market Managed Service Provider, Cloudtango’s #1 MSP in Australia for eight years running. We’ve grown steadily for more than 15 years and now have 330+ staff across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
We’re big enough to be stable and well-supported, but still small enough that good ideas travel fast and good people get trusted. No startup panic. No big-corporate politics. Just capable people, clear expectations, and leadership that backs delivery.
Our values guide how we work when things get busy and decisions matter. We Keep it Simple, Live Curiously, Be the Solution, Win Together, and Never Stop Growing. Clear plans, straight conversations, and practical execution beat over-engineering every time. You can see more about how we operate at https://www.firstfocus.com.au/about-us/.
Why this role exists (and why you’ll like it)- You’ll sit at the centre of our acquisition strategy, not on the sidelines.
- You’ll own delivery outcomes, not just task lists and status updates.
- You’ll work closely with acquired business leaders, senior engineers, and First Focus executives.
- You’ll be trusted to run projects your way, as long as outcomes land and complexity stays controlled.
- You’ll get pace, variety, and challenge, without unnecessary process or bureaucracy.
- Owning multiple post-acquisition client technology migration and integration projects concurrently.
- Planning, coordinating, and delivering migration milestones into the First Focus tech stack on time, with clear and current documentation.
- Keeping project plans, risks, dependencies, and decision logs accurate and easy to follow.
- Managing competing priorities calmly as timelines compress and scope evolves.
- Tracking actions closely and making sure follow-ups actually happen, not just get discussed.
- Running structured, effective project meetings that focus on decisions and next steps.
- Building strong working relationships with acquired business leadership, engineering teams, and senior executives.
- Tracking costs against forecast and flagging risks or optimisation opportunities early.
- Keeping delivery moving even when information is incomplete, messy, or changing quickly.
RequirementsWhat we’re looking for
- A highly organised Senior Project Manager who knows how to simplify complex integrations without losing control.
- Someone calm, resilient, and practical under pressure.
- A strong owner of outcomes who follows through and holds timelines and people accountable.
- A clear, confident communicator who can work comfortably with engineers, executives, and business owners.
- Commercial awareness, with experience tracking costs against forecast and identifying delivery efficiencies.
- Strong MSP experience, ideally with large-scale client technology migrations or acquisition integration exposure.
- Confidence to push back when needed and keep delivery focused on what actually matters.
Benefits
- Competitive salary package between $130,000 and $160,000 per annum, plus super and other benefits.
- Free access to Uprise, including 1:1 coaching with qualified psychologists or counsellors.
- Flexible working to support work-life balance.
- “Never Stop Growing”, 10 paid study days per year, exam fees paid, and pay rises for certifications (conditions apply).
- Weekly internal training and a deep learning library.
- FastTrack mentoring program with senior leaders who are genuinely accessible.
- MAD (Making a Difference) Council focused on equality, charity, and the environment.
- The slightly ridiculous but very real option of packaging a Tesla (conditions apply).
- Regular social events and a genuinely supportive team culture.
You’ll be supported, trusted, and rewarded for delivery, not for politics or noise.
The honest bitThe toughest part of this role is the pace. Acquisitions move quickly, information is not always perfect, and priorities shift. If you prefer slow, highly predictable projects with pristine inputs, this will frustrate you. If you like cutting through noise, simplifying complexity, and being trusted to deliver through change, you’ll do very well here.
