As a Senior Project Manager, you are directly tied to the strategic goals determined by our senior leadership team. As part of the CEx team reporting to the Manager of Implementations you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects that cover many areas of the business and will expand your project management experience. The types of projects you could be managing include: creating new products/services, improving existing products/services, expanding our company’s reach globally, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with our Enterprise, IT and Clients to implement technical and business solutions. This role will be client facing and will require the co-ordination of internal teams.
You will work with all organizational levels, managing schedules, expectations and risk, and overseeing project communication with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, to scope and quality based on the project and portfolio indicators.

Succeeding as a Senior Project Manager will require the following core qualifications and skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, and PMI recognized coursework
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in a business environment
  • PMP and Lean Six Sigma certifications are an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication skills
  • Ability to inspire their projects teams while keeping their projects on time, on budget and on scope
  • Ability to work under pressure, achieve success metrics and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Curious, flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and plan your time 
  • Organised and a self starter
  • Happy to work for a successful company that promotes from within

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Project and Portfolio Management

  • Manages the full lifecycle of multiple complex projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Understands the interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs and maintains alignment with industry best practices and organizational strategy
  • Leads resource management activities including, but not limited to: determining resource requirements, organizing project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, developing project schedule, monitoring and tracking work against project timelines
  • Establishes integrated project governance processes to deliver the intended project benefits and align with organizational strategic objectives
  • Monitors project activities and provides executive-level reporting on project status including cost, timing, and staffing, milestones and deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
  • Monitors, tracks and controls project outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables

Communications and Coordination

  • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills, internally and externally
  • Attention to detail along with ability to keep the big picture in perspective, both proactive and adaptable, adept at relationship building and effective communication, ability to influence
  • Creates high quality professional written communications and presentations, to project stakeholders including management and senior leadership on a regular basis
  • Plans and leads status review meetings, which may include internal team members, vendors, and customers
  • Communicates routinely to management, customers, project team members, and other stakeholders, actively soliciting and addressing customer and project team feedback

Mentoring and Coaching

  • Coaches, mentors, and motivates internal and external project resources
  • Participates in building project teams to expand their capabilities by establishing best practices, policies, PM methodologies, quality assurance and control, tools, and templates
  • Advocate and champions continuous learning, process improvement, and project and portfolio management excellence across the organization
