We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for an opportunity with our Boston based cultural team to support current projects and upcoming opportunities. In this role the Senior PM will collaborate with clients and project teams throughout the project lifespan and provide project management and construction management services on renovation and new construction for cultural clients. The Senior PM will encourage project teams to work collaboratively and resolve complex decisions to ensure the project is completed successfully. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering field is required with 10+ years of relatable experience or training. Experience working with cultural facilities such as museums, visitor centers, libraries, performing arts centers and theaters is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead project management services associated with new construction and renovation projects including, but not limited to, project budgeting, procurement of professional and construction services and all construction activities.
  • Assumes full accountability for the team's adherence to the procedures/protocol for administration of contract documentation, this includes certificate of insurance documentation, review of design and construction documents required for approval by the Board of Trustees, review of contracts for contractors and architects/engineers, etc. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all contract documents associated with their projects and their teams’ projects as well as training and coaching their staff to have similar oversight and attention to detail on the projects.
  • Lead negotiations with construction vendors to ensure best value for the client.
  • Provide Project/Construction Management oversight during all phases of the project.
  • Prepare, maintain and control project schedules.
  • Prepare, maintain and control project budgets.
  • Provide Change Order Analysis and provide recommendation to Client.
  • Manage sub-consultants and technical resources.
  • Coordinate and interface with the Client and project team.
  • Assist with construction manager procurement and GMP development.
  • Review and approve contractor invoicing.
  • Lead project progress meetings.
  • Participate in Client presentations.
  • Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Manage submittal and RFI process.

Minimum Requirements

  • Prior experience with Museum projects is required.
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of commercial construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent related combination of education and work experience.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or PMP certificate highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Project. Knowledge of and experience using various Contract Management Platforms and Primavera (P6) software is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with little or no direct supervision in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage large and complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of project management principles, processes, and procedures.
  • Proficient leadership skills, including effective conflict management and influencing.
  • Thorough knowledge of medium to large scale construction projects, including feasibility, estimating, and scheduling.
