SUMMARY
Direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and
completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility. Must have a technical background .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver high quality projects on schedule and within the defined budget.
Throughout project execution work with project stakeholders to improve project financial performance
through efficient execution, supplier negotiation, and change order management.
Coordinate with area manager to Assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as
technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, product testing,
commissioning and installations as required.
With Engineering review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards,
customer contract requirements, and related specifications and regulations.
Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering
design and test problems.
Direct integration of technical activities and products.
Work with Engineering to evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Prepare interim and completion project reports.
Develop and maintain customer relations.
Develop and maintain subcontractors/Supplier relations in coordination with supplier management.
Ensure current awareness of market activity and customer requirements.
Assist in bid and proposal activity.
Assist in pricing related activities.
Review final quote file for accuracy, completeness, and conformity.
Follow up with customer on award status of contract/purchase order.
Review all information on contracts to insure completeness, accuracy, and conformity.
Negotiate with customers.
Ensure all certifications and representative reports and other exhibits required for contractual compliance
are prepared, maintained and when necessary, submitted to customer or proper authority.
Provide customer with contract/purchase order status.
Analyze job status reports with respect to labor and material budgets, material details, shipping status and
overall monitoring of the contract/purchase order.
Generate or assist others with generation of Change of Scope (COS) which provides notice to customers
that a change to the project may affect budget and/or schedule. Ensure COS is reviewed by Atec
management and submitted to customer in timely manner. Work with customer to ensure a contract
modification is provided and then communicated to Atec (subsidiaries, suppliers, etc.).
Prepare and submit government forms for export when required.
Work with Contract Administrator or Contracts Manager on contract issues.
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work
environment.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization
(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May have supervisory responsibility for employees working on the project.
Monitor personnel to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec AS9100/ISO policies, and
correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Technical degree from four-year college or technical school; three (3) or more years related experience
and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
Advanced (master’s degree or higher) preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Professional Engineer preferred.
Project Management Professional certification preferred.

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required.
