POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the fast-growing Electrical Team at Starr Electric. This person is responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, critical thinking skills, and a deep understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction processes. The Senior Project Manager collaborates with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from inception to completion.
  • Understanding and being able to complete the hands-on electrical projects
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and contracts to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Supervise and support the team, ensuring quality workmanship and safety compliance. Minimum management experience of 5 years or more.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues to avoid project delays.
  • Track project progress, document key milestones, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee projects from planning to completion, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to align expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

The Project Manager will report to the General Manager. Must be able to travel inside the State of Georgia.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training, engineering degree, or certification in electrical preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in field, with at least 2 years in a project management role
  • 3+ years of hands-on electrical experience
  • Experience managing commercial and industrial projects, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of systems, codes, and construction processes.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • PMP Certification, preferred.

Language Skills 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability  

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
