We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Power Generation to join our Power Generation business in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and is not eligible for cross-border relocation support.

This position is responsible for managing the planning, execution, commissioning, and successful delivery of power generation projects while leading project teams and engaging with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders. The incumbent will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong leadership capabilities, technical project management expertise, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and manage multiple power generation projects from initiation through completion. 
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables. 
  • Facilitate project planning sessions and align stakeholders on project objectives. 
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. 
  • Coordinate activities across internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and customers. 

Financial & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor project costs, margins, and resource utilization. 
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success and operational efficiency. 
  • Utilize financial data and key performance indicators to support business decision-making. 

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations. 
  • Drive project governance and reporting processes.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates, performance reports, and executive-level communications. 
  • Deliver customer-centric solutions that support business growth and long-term partnerships. 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop project team members.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/ mechanical engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering, infrastructure, energy, or power generation projects. 
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills. 
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, and resources. 
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools.

Preferred

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification. 
  • Knowledge of power generation systems, technologies, and industry practices. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external contractors, suppliers, and customers.
