Job Summary

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of mission critical and infrastructure projects to ensure adherence to project specifications, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and constraints. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies specific to mission critical infrastructure
  • Oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, regulations, and safety standards. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to achieve project milestones, resolve issues, and maintain progress
  • Coordinate with Estimating Department to formulate award schedule for trades during preconstruction. Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and review cost reports regularly. Identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering solutions, and manage change orders. Forecast and track the amount of labor, managerial and material costs necessary to complete a project.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and project requirements. Conduct inspections, perform tests, review documentation, and address any non-conformances promptly
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating construction activities with subcontractors and stakeholders. Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Identify and assess risks associated with mission critical infrastructure projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, proactively addressing potential issues that may impact construction timelines, budgets, or system performance
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders. Provide regular project updates, address concerns, and manage expectations to ensure client satisfaction. Prepare and issue project documents including progress reports, detailed project schedule updates, and financial/budget updates
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, professional growth, and knowledge sharing
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Ensure adherence to contractual agreements, performance expectations, and timely delivery of goods and services
  • Resolve subcontractor claims during subcontractor close-out period. Ensure punchlist completion and Department of Buildings sign off. Organize and deliver project close-out/As-Built documents
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on construction sites. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices to protect the well-being of personnel and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • At least ten years of relevant experience as a Project Manager, preferably in general contracting or construction management of mission critical and infrastructure projects
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles, practices, codes, and regulations related to mission critical facilities
  • Must have strong client relations skills and a collaborative disposition
  • Must have strong technical writing and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading Mission Critical and Infrastructure construction plans and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • 10-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certification is a plus but not required
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certification is a plus but not required

Computer Systems

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), MS Project, Procore, Timberline, and Bluebeam (Preferred)

Salary Information

  • To the extent that this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $250,000
