Senior Project Manager - Global Product Development Processes

(HYMH), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for a talented Project Manager in our facility located in the Portland, Oregon area. HYMH designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are one of the global leaders in the Materials Handling industry and have been building relationships and partnering with our customers, suppliers, dealers, and employees for almost 100 years.
Responsibilities:
Join a diverse and independent group charged with developing the processes, systems, and software used by tomorrow’s engineers. Primary responsibilities of this position include liaising with the Global Process Development and IT infrastructure teams to manage global projects including planning, scheduling, budgets, resources, KPI and reporting to senior leadership.
This position involves projects including mechanical engineering software such as Siemens TeamCenter PLM, standardization of engineering processes across multiple global engineering development centers and be a key driver of change management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years in engineering.
- 5+ years Project Management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership on large project implementations.
- Agility to foster relationships between diverse multi-cultural organizations.
- Proactive, able to identify process opportunities and function independently.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles.
- Responsible for effectively mitigating and reporting project risk.
- Coordinate and run global cross-functional project meetings.
- Learn and adapt local processes into global ones.
- Coordinate documentation, training, and adoption of global processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office scheduling, resource planning, and budgeting.
- Good organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification preferred.
- Implement LEAN practices to streamline project workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Quality focused. Adhere to established procedures and understand global regulatory and customs requirements related to the lift truck industry.
- Decision Making: Exhibit professional judgment and a practical understanding of issues; demonstrate an ability to set priorities and take decisive actions to derive a solution even when data may be ambiguous or conflicting.
- Innovative: Creative thinking, troubleshooting complex systems, and develop unique solutions to new and difficult problems.
- Systematic Problem Solving: Demonstrate ability to apply structured principles and methods to resolve difficult or constrained challenges.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a global team environment. Proactively solicit opinions. Support and champion group decisions while being respectful of diverse cultures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills when dealing with highly technical engineering subject matter.
- Exposure to, and interest in, industrial equipment (materials handling, automotive, agricultural, or similar machines) is highly desirable.
This position does not include hands-on work with forklifts or any physical requirements.
At least 3 days spent in the office in Fairview, OR (2 days WFH), although initial office requirements during training might be higher on an as-needed basis.
