The Team: The Global Finance Transformation Program (GFTP) is part of Morningstar's Finance and Accounting Department. The GFTP was created to establish a formal project management function, framework and governance structure to ensure coordination between the significant and complex projects of the finance organization. We assist with project management activities, facilitate project prioritization, coordinate project resources and communicate project status to senior management. The current program is comprised of five work streams covering disciplines related to Quote-to-Cash, Procurement, Global Shared Services, Enhanced Business Partnering and Oracle R12; however, we expect the GFTP to evolve with the changing needs of the Finance team.
The Job: We are hiring a dynamic Senior Project Manager who is highly collaborative, detail orientated and self-directed to join our Global Finance Program Management Team (GFPM). As a Sr. Project Manager, you will manage critical projects working in a highly collaborative environment with various functional stakeholders such as technology, product teams, and operations (i.e., Accounting and Finance, People & Culture) globally to ensure successful delivery.
An ideal candidate has a strong background coordinating the work of globally distributed teams on complex projects. Experience owning, planning, and driving projects to completion including the oversight of multiple project plans and key metrics, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical.
The role will be based in Bucharest and will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) and report to our Chicago based Program Manager. Due to the global nature of the role, schedule flexibility will be important and may result in some later hours that would be balanced with later starts.
Responsibilities:
- Support Global Finance Transformation Program initiatives with meeting their project milestones, related to:
- Project planning
- Solution design
- Testing
- Implementation
- Communication and Change Management
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to understand requirements, define project scope, and monitor progress against milestones.
- Prepare and update detailed project plans and task lists
- Create and update project summary reports and dashboards
- Contribute to development of GFTP project management standards and toolkits
- Drive adoption of our Finance Wiki space and JIRA project tracking tool
- Assist with coordinating project prioritization with finance management team
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in Project Management (ideal finance related fields)
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field
- Self-motivated
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate a high degree of skill in communication and positive interaction with all employees.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to understand and utilize productivity tools (such as JIRA, Wiki, SharePoint, Smartsheet) to drive efficiencies
- Solid interpersonal and organizational skills.
- This role will primarily work on projects within our Procure to Pay space. Experience in projects involving contracting through payables execution will be a plus, as would power user experience with applications such as Coupa and Concur or similar systems.
