To join our Project Management team, we are looking for a:

Senior Project Manager (f/m/d) Strategic Initiatives

Cologne (hybrid) or Berlin (remote) | Permanent Contract (Full-time)

The Project Office owns the roadmap of strategic initiatives and ensures effective portfolio governance across the organization. It is also responsible for project management standards and central reporting. The Project Office is part of the Staff Department and reports directly to the CEO.

As part of the Project Office, you will lead and deliver business transformation projects across areas such as process improvement, technology implementation, and organizational change management.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams from across the organization, including Product, Technology, Finance, Legal, and HR, to deliver projects within scope, budget, and time constraints while meeting quality expectations.

Where internal expertise or technology is not available, you will also oversee the procurement and budget management of external resources.

Your Tasks 

  • Project Scoping and Strategic Alignment – Define goals, scope, and success criteria in partnership with sponsors, ensuring each project aligns with a compelling business case or strategic objective.

  • Planning and Scheduling – Develop delivery timelines using appropriate methodologies (agile or traditional), with a clear breakdown of tasks that support timely execution.

  • Team Assembly and Resource Management – Lead the formation of cross-functional teams, identify internal and external resource needs, and manage project budgets to ensure effective execution.

  • Performance Monitoring and Risk Mitigation – Track milestones and key metrics tied to business value, while continuously assessing risks and implementing necessary controls to keep the project on course.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication – Maintain strong alignment with stakeholders through proactive communication, expectation management, and consistent status updates.

  • Change Management and Adoption – Drive organizational change by fostering internal ownership, building advocacy, and supporting the adoption of new processes or solutions.

  • Transparency and Long-Term Impact – Ensure thorough documentation and communication across the project lifecycle, designing tracking methods that reinforce sustainable outcomes and long-term success.

  • Degree in Business, Project Management or equivalent professional Project Management (SAFe, PRINCE, PMBOK) experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, ideally within the e-commerce or digital product landscape 

  • Proven ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams and manage competing stakeholder priorities 

  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, MS Project), and a deep understanding of project delivery frameworks 

  • Strong organizational skills, structured thinking, and a pragmatic, results-driven approach 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate confidently across departments, including executive-level stakeholders 

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is an advantage

Skills Required

  • Degree in Business, Project Management or equivalent professional Project Management experience
  • Project management certification or experience with frameworks (SAFe, PRINCE, PMBOK)
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience within e-commerce or digital product landscape
