Walker Sands is looking for an experienced senior project manager to support a variety of projects on a contract basis. At the end of the contract, this role may be converted into a permanent position based on performance and the needs of the business.
Daily work will include managing the progress of all internal aspects of agency projects. This will include scoping new projects, creating timelines, managing communication with internal team members (writers, designers, SEO and paid media managers, strategists, account management representatives and occasionally senior-level management) and ensuring that we’re progressing according to the approved timeline and project goals.
A senior project manager’s responsibilities include setting up internal kickoff meetings on new projects, setting up internal meetings, recording and sharing notes, communicating with clients and internal resources, organizing assets on Google Drive, maintaining project timelines and ensuring daily progress, performing quality checks to ensure accuracy of deliverables, leading project status meetings, monitoring budget/hours allocations on projects, and overall acting as “go-to” for all internal team members on projects.
The senior project manager will receive direct support from the group’s senior staff during the scoping phase of the project (development of timeline, estimate, SOW) and then some ongoing supervision once a project kicks off. But a successful candidate should be detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently when needed.
Requirements
- 3-4 years project management experience
- Familiarity with a wide range of creative, strategic and digital marketing deliverables
- Understanding of waterfall and agile project management methodologies
- Experience with project reporting, hours tracking, and budget management
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and personal task management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a cross-functional and collaborative team
- Ability to re-prioritize tasks, and request others re-prioritize their tasks, as needed
- Proactive and responsive communication skills
- An eye for contextualizing feedback and making action items clear and concise
- Ability to motivate a team and teamwork skills, and ability to motivate a team
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Trello or other project management tools
- Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification
- Hands-on experience with Marketing Automation platforms (i.e. Marketo or Pardot)
- Understanding of popular CMS basics (i.e. WordPress, Drupal)
- Understanding of SEO and demand gen tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, LinkedIn Business Manager)
- Understanding of QA / QC / proofreading processes
- Experience managing client relationships
Contract Details
- Contract Dates: August 1, 2024 - November 30, 2024
- Hybrid: Ability to work two days a week from the Chicago office
- Contract Fee: $6,500 per month
- Not eligible for company benefits. Minimal time off will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
