Head of Cybersecurity Operation

About the Position

Alice is seeking an experienced Head of Cyber Operations to drive our Android malware research operation. The role reports to the Group Manager of Cyber Operations and combines project planning and delivery, day-to-day coordination across research and development teams, and direct communication with clients on active engagements. The 5 team leaders running the operation report to the Group Manager. This role partners closely with them and with the Group Manager, and steps in to cover management responsibilities when the Group Manager is unavailable.

We're looking for an experienced operator with a strong analytical background who can work with technical teams, support team leaders day-to-day, and engage with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Operational delivery

• Plan, manage, and deliver malware research and development projects end-to-end, covering scope, timelines, milestones, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate across research, development, and product teams to ensure smooth execution and clear handoffs.
• Refine operational processes, workflows, and quality standards for research delivery.
• Track new employee onboarding and ramp-up progress on active projects.

Team leader partnership

• Work closely with the 5 team leaders on day-to-day execution, blockers, and delivery planning.
• Cover for the Group Manager on management matters when the Group Manager is unavailable, including approvals, escalations, and operational decisions.
• Support team leaders in process adoption, prioritization, and operational improvements.

Analytics & performance

• Work with SQL and statistical analysis to measure project performance, throughput, and quality.
• Partner with team leaders to track delivery metrics and identify where the team needs support.
• Track employee performance against defined metrics and surface insights to team leaders and the Group Manager.

Client engagement

• Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients on active engagements, managing expectations, progress updates, and deliverable reviews.
• Partner with the Group Manager, who owns the overall client relationship, providing operational visibility and supporting strategic conversations.
• Present project status and research outcomes to clients and internal stakeholders.

Must-Have

• 6+ years of relevant experience in project, program, or operations management roles.
• Experience managing projects in at least one of the following: software development, engineering, or technical research (e.g., cybersecurity, malware research). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools (Jira, Monday, Asana, Linear).
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and on scope.
• Hands-on SQL proficiency and strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis.
• Experience tracking and reporting on employee performance metrics.
• Strong client-facing experience with clear presentation and communication skills.
• Experience partnering with team leaders or middle managers on operational delivery.
• Valid international government-issued photo ID (e.g., current passport or international driver's license) for identity verification and global client interaction.

Nice-to-Have

• Background in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or malware research.
• Experience scaling research or operational teams in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, R).
• PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification.
• Experience presenting to C-level executives.
• Familiarity with malware research tools (JADX, Ghidra, IDA Pro, Frida, Burp Suite, Wireshark).
• Understanding of the mobile threat landscape and Android ecosystem.
