Job DescriptionThe Senior Project Manager (SPM) will be responsible for all aspects of managing clients and projects within the mining sector with a focus on the aggregates industry. Additionally, the SPM will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining existing and new client relationships as well as project management and business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and contributing to the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization.
The ideal candidate will manage projects, including all aspects of mining facility operation including layout, roadways, blasting, hauling, processing plant design and operation, surface and groundwater management, and environmental controls manage multiple projects and business development initiatives concurrently. Additional responsibilities include:
- Proposal development
- Budget and schedule oversight
- Junior staff mentorship
- Client relationship fostering
- Business growth
- Seamless integration within a diverse multidisciplinary engineering team

QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in geology, mining, geological, or civil engineering; business financial experience is helpful
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining aggregate, crushed stone, sand and gravel, cement, and/or consulting industries
- Registered professional engineer/ professional geologist or ability to obtain upon hire
- At least 5 years of project management experience
- Leadership and team management experience
- Experience in technical report writing
- Extensive experience in commercial engineering and mining engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carlson, Surpac, Vulcan, Minesched, and GIS) preferred
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel
Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
