What you’ll do?

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will build on our strong key stakeholder relationships within both the government and private sectors, and you will be empowered to lead and develop a team of Project Engineers to ensure successful project delivery within a safety-first culture.

This position will include some metropolitan-based works; however, the role will primarily operate on a DIDO roster; requiring regular travel and overnight stays away from home.

How you’ll connect to the role?

  • Coordinate project activities, and ensure Systems of Work are implemented through SWMS, Special Processes and Corrective Actions.

  • Ensure projects are adequately resourced taking into consideration project complexity, client requirements and budget constraints.

  • Recommend/ approve award of subcontract packages, ensuring best value through appropriate scoping, commercial conditions and subcontractor selection.

  • Review and analyse project programs to assess performance against the contract program, assist with forecasting, and ensure mitigation measures are implemented as required.

  • Understand the application of the EBAs and ensure site compliance.

You will bring previous experience in managing civil infrastructure projects, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships. Your ability to show initiative, identify and address potential issues early, and adapt to new challenges will set you up for success. Strong commercial and analytical capability will also be essential, including cost control, reviewing monthly project forecasts, and interrogating forecast costs to complete as required.

Ideally, you will hold a degree in Engineering or a related discipline, supported by proven experience in the road surfacing industry, including asphalt paving and delivery. Knowledge of, and experience working with, MRWA specifications will be highly regarded.
