Digital Solution Engineering Manager__
Role Mission
Act as a technical authority in the development of engineering solutions focused on industrial automation, with a strong emphasis on the pulp and paper sector. This position is part of ABB’s Process Industries (PAPI) organization and plays a key role in supporting the success of the IDS team in the Americas. The role involves leading mid- to large-scale projects, ensuring high-quality technical delivery aligned with safety, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Serve as a technical reference, ensuring project execution is aligned with contracts, quality standards, safety protocols, and cybersecurity policies.
Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and propose tailored technical solutions, incorporating continuous feedback.
Develop work plans, cost estimates, and ensure on-time, on-budget project implementation.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure that systems are correctly manufactured, tested, installed, and commissioned.
Support and mentor engineers in technical development, promoting best practices and sharing lessons learned.
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), exclusively in the pulp and paper industry.
Degree in Software Engineering, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning.
Solid experience in industrial software development and implementation.
Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus).
Strong ability to engage with clients and translate business needs into digital and technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience in complex industrial environments and digitalization initiatives.
Participation in strategic projects with major clients in the pulp and paper industry.
Additional knowledge of digital automation platforms and industrial data solutions.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
