Senior Project Engineer - MEPJob Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced and competent MEP Engineer with around 6-8 years of experience in execution, coordination, testing & commissioning, and management of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for large building construction projects specifically hospitals. The candidate shall be responsible for ensuring timely execution, quality compliance, safety standards, and coordination with all stakeholders for successful delivery of MEP works.Job Description
About The Role
- Execute and supervise MEP works as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, structural, and specialist contractors for seamless integration of MEP services.
- Monitor site progress and ensure adherence to construction milestones.
- Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
- Supervise HVAC, ventilation, firefighting, and plumbing installations.
- Ensure proper testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Oversee installation of HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, UPS, lighting, earthing, and ELV systems.
- Coordinate power shutdowns and electrical testing activities.
- Ensure safety compliance during electrical works execution.
- Supervise water supply, drainage, STP/WTP, and firefighting systems.
- Ensure pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities are completed satisfactorily.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and approvals.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Track productivity, manpower deployment, and material requirements.
- Identify delays and proactively implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with approved quality standards and QA/QC procedures.
- Coordinate inspections and closure of NCRs/snags.
- Enforce HSE requirements and safe working practices at site.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Attend review meetings and provide technical inputs.
- Verify contractor bills and certify executed quantities where required.
- Plan and execute integrated testing and commissioning activities.
- Support handover documentation including O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and training.
About You
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in in building construction projects such as Villas, hotels, commercial buildings, residential townships, or institutional projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, and ELV systems.
- Familiarity with NBC, IS Codes, NFPA, and local authority regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Experience in testing & commissioning
