Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Level 4 or 5) to become part of the Executive Transportation Production Engineering team in San Antonio, TX.
The selected candidate will lead and support development, implementation and monitoring of various multi-function program enablers spanning across technical, business, and integration benchmarks. This role will collaborate with cross functional leadership across all levels to identify and manage changes to statement of work, processes, and resource tools used to drive sustainable change. Additionally, this team member will help align prioritization of prevention activities to enable first pass quality and high efficiency modification on the product. The selected candidate will identify, create, and use project metrics to report to leadership on performance health.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes> • Lead collaboration and integration across the affected commodities and programs
• Responsible for leading integrating, acquiring resources, and leading program enabler action plans to completion
• Analyze production engineering (ME, LE, IE) concepts and processes, and lead integration across core functions to deliver on first pass quality and efficiency improvements
• Actively engaged and leading complex technical problems and supporting potential development of adjusted execution strategies
• Serve as the responsible representative to manage the production engineering project (enablers) portfolio to achieve organization goals
• Develop and report production engineering project summary metrics
• Support team performance by participating in process/tool improvement projects
• May be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, to support business needs and deadlines
This position will be 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • Experience in a production or systems engineering skill code
  • 3+ years of experience in a MRO / Heavy Modification environment
  • 4+ years of related work experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading team or managing cross functional projects in a formal and/or informal role
  • 4+ years of experience with project management tools
  • 4+ years of advanced Microsoft suite skills to include macro development, intermediate to advance knowledge of excel formulas, and pivot table manipulation
  • 4+ years developing presentations and reporting to senior or executive leadership
  • Knowledge and development experience with TABLEAU or PowerBI metrics

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Project Management Certification
  • Project Management Professional Certificate Lean Six Sigma (green belt or black belt)
  • Experience working with BPSM - RCCA tools
  • Experience developing web based tools (HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT)
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering role (electrical, blankets, interiors, flight test)
  • Experience in commercial or military airplane modification
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting of commercial aircraft Avionics and Electrical systems
  • Experience in VIP interiors installations
  • Experience in Electrical bundle fabrication and installation Experience in part fabrication techniques
  • Experience in wire bundle fabrication concepts, wiring installation, electrical equipment installation or installation of wiring provisions

Summary Pay Range: Level 4 $136,850 - 185,150
Summary Pay Range: Level 5 $164,900 - 223,100
