To expand our current CEI operations, Dewberry is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for FDOT CEI pursuits throughout Florida. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the construction management and quality control team in administering all aspects related to FDOT projects in accordance with FDOT standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

· Lead CEI project pursuits

· Provide leadership to the construction management team

· Lead continuous staff improvement and training

· Prepare monthly project status report

· Manage and administer QA/QC program

· Lead project progress meetings

· Provide contract administrative support services

· Oversee project inspectors and support staff including subconsultants

· Evaluate project claims, delays and coordinate timely resolution with client

· Develop cost estimates and budgets

· Resolve project issues with the client

Required Skills & Required Experience

· Civil Engineering degree or degree in related field

· Professional Engineer in Florida, or ability to obtain in 6 months

· 10 years’ experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects

· Preferable experience with FDOT projects

· Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT

· Working knowledge of FDOT construction and administrative procedures and programs

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong command of construction scheduling, proposal development and contractor means and methods for typical roadway construction elements to include, clearing and grubbing, environmental, drainage, piling, drilled shafts, retaining walls, paving and pavement base, bridge construction, concrete, and asphalt, singing and lighting, ITS and tolling

· Strong critical thinking skills

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer license in Florida, or ability to obtain it within six months
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction management for civil highway and bridge projects
  • Experience with FDOT projects
  • Ability to build strong relationships within FDOT
  • Working knowledge of FDOT construction and administrative procedures and programs
