How you'll make a difference?

We are looking for a seasoned Program Manager to lead multiple simultaneous cross-functional, global teams through the scoping, planning, execution, and completion of projects. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, organization, and stakeholder management, with a proven ability to lead change and deliver results. The Senior Program 

Manager, Operations will proactively employ interpersonal and professional skills as well as project management tools to ensure the timely completion of activities within budget. A successful candidate can manage projects across business units in multiple locations and in different facets of the organization to improve the organization’s ability to provide exceptional service to our internal and external customers. 

What will your duties and responsibilities be?

The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned. 

  • Develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless program execution and delivery 

  • Apply risk management to identify potential threats and opportunities and devise contingency plans 

  • Anticipate and identify critical technical obstacles and make accurate operational decisions 

  • Analyze complex problems, interpret functional needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions

  • Implement the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events to minimize the impact of threats on the project and take advantage of opportunities

  • Document high-level risks, assumptions, and constraints using historical data and expert judgment to understand project limitations

  • Identify resources needed and assignment of individual team member responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals

  • Develop project deliverables and oversight of completion

  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget using appropriate verification techniques to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized project changes

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders

  • Verify that project documents are completed, and appropriate procedures are followed

  • Manage meetings, communication with internal and external team members, and conflict resolution

  • Address inappropriate behaviors or substandard performance professionally and proactively

  • Lead high-priority projects requiring considerable resources and high levels of functional integration

  • Manage stakeholder communications 

  • Develop program materials, templates, documentation, and other assets

  • Influence and negotiate with key stakeholders and senior leaders to drive program success and resolve conflicts

  • Monitor and report on program performance, providing regular updates to senior management

  • Conduct project post-mortems, capture lessons learned and continuously improve program management practices

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements

What skills will you need?

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.  

Education/Certifications:  

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science or higher degree in relevant engineering, business, or technical field

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities

  • Must have knowledge of overall business principles and concepts of manufacturing operations, distribution, logistics, and supply chain of medical products

  • Demonstrate success in managing complex programs and delivering results

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders effectively 

  • Proficiency in change management practices

  • Experience working with all levels across the organization

  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Knowledge of the technologies and technical issues involved with the project, take active leadership in timely decision making and effectively manage change

  • Minimum of two years of formal project management experience

  • Recognize the contributions of others and praise people for good performance

  • Demonstrate skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities

  • Utilize computer skills using Smartsheets, Microsoft Project and Office Suite programs

  • Provide group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills

  • Willingness to travel 10-25% based on project requirements

Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities

  • PMP or other relevant certifications

  • Experience in a global or multi-national organization 

  • Knowledge of medical device industry best practices and trends.

The anticipated salary for this position for an employee who is located in California is $142,884 to $189,000 per year, plus bonus, and benefits.
