This role demands extensive expertise in Department of War (DoW) systems acquisition, program management, strategic planning, and program integration to achieve mission success for U.S. national defense initiatives.

You will be at the forefront of executing SAIC’s innovative approach to integrating advanced capabilities—including Airborne Moving Target Indicator (AMTI), Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI), Space Data Network (SDN), Space Weather, and SBST Futures—to meet the dynamic needs of the mission. As a key partner to the Government Program Manager, you will shape and deliver the vision, ensuring effective execution of this critical mission area.

This role requires leadership of complex systems integration across team, customer, and contractor stakeholders within a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Your expertise will be pivotal in program planning, risk mitigation, technical evaluation, and schedule performance, ensuring alignment with cutting-edge defense system developments and the evolving needs of the SBST community.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Serve as a critical embedded partner to the Government Program Manager, providing guidance on acquisition strategies, program schedules, resource allocation, and contracting actions to meet mission objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of program execution, including delivery milestones, risk management, system testing, integration of space and ground segments, and managing contractor teams.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure the seamless integration of AMTI, GMTI, Space Data Network (SDN), Space Weather, and SBST Futures capabilities across mission requirements while balancing technical and operational priorities.
  • Organize and lead technical interchange meetings (TIMs) and program reviews to monitor progress, identify risks, ensure adherence to milestones, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Apply advanced program planning techniques and change management practices to maintain consistency across all program artifacts, such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and performance metrics.
  • Manage resource commitments, funding obligations, and expenditures while ensuring on-time delivery of program objectives within budget constraints.
  • Advocate for innovative, adaptable solutions that accelerate project delivery timelines while ensuring compliance with government acquisition frameworks and mission-critical requirements.

This is you:

  • Bachelors and 20+ years of professional experience in aerospace, defense, or government program management with a focus on acquisition, systems integration, or engineering leadership. (Masters and 18+ years preferred.)

  • Demonstrated program management expertise in complex systems acquisition, including integration of multi-segment capabilities (space, ground, and network systems).
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, driving organizational performance, and meeting compressed deadlines in mission-critical environments.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with development of complex DoW weapon systems, and the ability to oversee their integration and delivery to the warfighter.
  • Proven ability to apply risk mitigation and cost control principles while meeting program milestones.
