Release Train Engineer (RTE) / Senior Scrum Master – Agile & PMO Transformation
Location: Bengaluru , India (Hybrid)
Organization: India Digital Capability Center (IDCC) 

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) / Senior Scrum Master to join the PW DT PMO and play a pivotal role in establishing a Agile delivery practice and capability within the India Digital Capability Center (IDCC).

This leader will be responsible for coaching and enabling Scaled Agile ways of working, driving iterative and product-centric delivery, and standing up a mature delivery governance model that seamlessly integrates Agile execution with Traditional PMO disciplines.

In addition to serving as an RTE for complex, mission-critical digital programs, this role will build and lead Agile delivery capabilities, partner closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Business leaders, and help evolve a hybrid Agile-PMO operating model aligned to global standards and the RTX CORE Operating System.

What You Will Do

Scaled Agile & Delivery Leadership

  • Serve as Release Train Engineer (RTE) for one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs), facilitating PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, System Demos, and Scrum of Scrums
  • Enable end-to-end flow of value across product teams, dependencies, vendors, and shared services
  • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Delivery Leads on SAFe®, Agile, and Lean principles
  • Drive predictable, iterative delivery while managing risks, dependencies, and impediments at scale

Agile Management Office (AMO) Build-Out

  • Design and establish an Agile Management practice and capability that complements and integrates with the Traditional PMO
  • Define Agile governance, metrics, and reporting standards (flow, predictability, outcomes, OKRs)
  • Balance Agile autonomy with enterprise controls, audit readiness, and compliance
  • Enable hybrid delivery models (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) across the IDCC portfolio

Program, Portfolio & Service Delivery Management

  • Lead large, complex digital initiatives spanning multiple teams, geographies, and stakeholders
  • Partner with Global PMO leadership to provide portfolio-level insights, delivery health, and capacity planning
  • Support PMO service offerings, including:
    • Delivery governance & cadence
    • Dependency and risk management
    • Program coordination and reporting
    • Planview (or equivalent) Agile & portfolio tooling enablement
  • Ensure alignment with global delivery standards and common frameworks

Coaching, People & Capability Development

  • Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing Agile delivery community within IDCC
  • Develop next-generation Scrum Masters and RTEs
  • Raise delivery maturity and execution standards across teams
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and accountability

Stakeholder Partnership & Communication

  • Act as a trusted thought partner to Product, Business, Engineering, and Architecture leaders
  • Communicate effectively at team, program, and portfolio levels
  • Influence without authority in complex, matrixed environments
  • Champion change and enable organizational adoption of Agile at scale

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply the RTX CORE Operating System to identify improvement opportunities
  • Drive Inspect & Adapt actions based on data, retrospectives, and outcomes
  • Promote Lean thinking, flow optimization, and value-based prioritization

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15+ years of overall experience, with 10+ years in delivery leadership roles
  • Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer, Senior Scrum Master, or Agile Program Lead
  • Hands-on experience leading large-scale, complex digital programs
  • Deep expertise in Scaled Agile (SAFe® or equivalent)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • SAFe RTE, SPC, PMP, Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma certification
  • People leadership experience (direct or matrixed)
  • Experience building or operating an Agile Management Office (AMO) or Hybrid PMO
  • Strong understanding of product-centric operating models
  • Experience working in global, regulated, or engineering-heavy environments
  • Strong proficiency with Agile/Portfolio tools (Planview, Jira, ADO, Rally, etc.)
