Job Description SummaryGas Power Engineering (GPE) approaches Lifecycle Management of its Product and Assets with innovative methods that are globally reaching, cross-functional, and continually seeking to improve business value. PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software and other tools it interfaces with are the means by which such business value is realized. With approximately 15,000 internal and external PLM users, opportunities abound to drive competitive differentiation through further tool enhancements and transformations. The largest program upgrade to date is currently underway, branded as Project PALM, and when this next generation PLM tool goes live it will represent a marked step improvement towards GPE’s enterprise aspirations.
The Senior Program Manager of PLM is a leader role, responsible for understanding and managing the functional requirements of the pillar PLM tool, leading long-term tool planning, and contributing to overall business strategies that involve PLM. Role coverage carries heavy ownership focus on driving the success of Project PALM towards phased Go-Live capability rollouts. Furthermore, the Senior Program Manager will help set up GPE’s PLM interests for Multi-Generational Product Plan sustainability. Success in this role is defined through effective collaboration with business stakeholders, IT partners, Leadership, and end users.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be the overall business owner for the PLM Multiple Generational Program Plan, ensuring operational business processes are being followed and managed; create and manage schedules, resource plans, vouchering data, and other financial measures to ensure deliverables and budgets are responsive to business expectations.
  • Lead overall implementation of functionality needs for Project PALM, leveraging PMO and other resources to apply Lean methodologies in identifying pain points and seeing actions to completion.
  • Apply appropriate Daily Management, owning Project PALM KPIs, supporting Operational needs for current PLM platform, driving alignment with Leadership, Stakeholders, and Users.
  • Collaborate with the PALM Core Team, DT technical owners of PLM, and cross-business teams on program needs, socializing plans, building consensus, and respectfully providing going-forward guidance, particularly when faced with lack of consensus.
  • Coach, mentor, and overall program manage the execution of the Action Plans using Progress Measures & Targets to Improve, including the pursuit of improvement opportunities.
  • Working with the PALM Core Team and Systems Implementation partners, identify gaps in scope coverage, taking action to address appropriately.
  • Working with the PALM Core Team and Business Implementation partners, enable and work to optimize PALM’s Organizational Change Management (OCM) needs, driving user readiness and adoption at and post-Go-Live for release phases.
  • Manage business-funded contractual resources for Project PALM per contract and program needs.
  • Facilitate business common processes leveraging industry standard processes, minimizing or eliminating need for system customizations, to achieve reliable and repeatable operating results.
  • Drive a consistent communication rhythm on PLM program status and operational improvements with individual contributors, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Support the development and deployment of effective PLM training activities and standards documentation to allow Users to fully realize the benefits of the platform, including release changes.
  • Guide Project PALM towards usage and optimization of PLM standards covering Post-Go-Live Sustainability needs, focusing on establishing “what good looks like” for user experience.
  • Ensure requirements are completed prior to PLM Production releases.
  • Take on assignments beyond position scope, as requested or required

Required Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of combined experience in Engineering/Technology & Engineering Tools, preferably in a Technical Leader or equivalent Senior Engineering role.
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Strategic thinker with strong organization, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

Differentiating Characteristics

  • Holds strategy and application expertise for Product Lifecycle Management, preferably proficient with cross-functional and cross-business process approaches enabled by PLM software
  • Demonstrated capability and passion for program management, including within a matrix-based, global engineering team
  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property Protection and Export Control Regulation
  • Understanding and experience with software development methodologies and supporting tools, preferably with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Gas Power Engineering tools knowledge: PLMs (Enovia and/or Teamcenter preferred), basic knowledge of ERPs (SAP, and/or Oracle preferred); familiarity with CAD

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
