About the role:

Samsara is seeking an experienced Program Manager of Global Learning to lead and guide two of our most critical initiatives: our company-wide global onboarding and leadership development programs. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and measurement of these programs, applying your expertise in learning frameworks. This position requires a proactive self-starter with a growth mindset, capable of working with a high degree of autonomy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Your work will directly impact employee success from their first day and cultivate the next generation of leaders needed to drive Samsara's growth. This role is open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role. This position requires travel up to 15% of the time.

In this role, you will: 

  • Own and manage the end-to-end strategy, design, and facilitation of our core global learning programs, including company-wide onboarding, skill-based development, and comprehensive leadership development for all levels, from brand new managers to VPs.
  • Develop and socialize content creation and governance processes to ensure content is updated and accurate, and can to evolve with the dynamic pace of the business
  • Design and implement company-wide, skill-based learning pathways to ensure that all Samsarians have the courses and knowledge they need to upskill and meet the demands of our ever-changing industry and company.
  • Lead the management and continuous improvement of our Learning Management System (LMS), including overseeing an implementation, managing integrations, communicating with the vendor and ensuring it meets the needs of Samsara’s learners.
  • Leverage AI tools (like Gemini) to improve learning processes, automate administrative tasks, and enhance learner engagement and personalization across programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including close partnership with the CHRO, and other cross-functional leaders in departments like Sales Enablement and R&D, to ensure our learning programs are aligned with their strategic needs.
  • Champion and help build a learning culture rooted in data and innovation, encouraging continuous improvement and a growth mindset across the organization.
  • Design and deliver global programs that are culturally sensitive and effective across diverse international audiences.
  • Develop and implement a robust measurement strategy to prove the impact and ROI of all learning initiatives, consistently tying program outcomes back program objectives that are aligned to business OKRs and company goals.
  • Establish and manage a clear intake and prioritization process for new learning requests from across the business, ensuring our resources are focused on the most critical initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by actively engaging with the L&D industry, translating the latest trends and research from publications like ATD and Training Magazine into innovative, practical strategies for Samsara.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Enablement, or a similar function, with at least 3 years directly managing complex, cross-functional learning programs.
  • Demonstrated experience applying adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create comprehensive learning solutions (including instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning formats).
  • Proven ability to measure training effectiveness and report on key metrics using industry-standard evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick's Levels 1-4).
  • A dynamic and engaging facilitator with a high aptitude for public speaking and leading training sessions for diverse audiences.
  • A seasoned instructional designer with a proven ability to build high-quality, custom content rapidly using tools like Synthesia, Articulate Rise, and G-Suite.
  • Strong data fluency, with experience analyzing learning and performance data to identify trends, derive insights, and inform program strategy.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) or Learning Experience Platform (LXP).
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders and cross-functional partners, to align learning initiatives with business objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Willingness to travel to deliver in-person trainings as needed.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Python, Java and Tableau is a significant plus.
  • Experience working on an LMS migration.
  • Experience using Google Suite ecosystem and using survey tools like Qualtrics to gather and analyze feedback.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
