Essential Functions:

Manages multiple highly complex and highly visible enterprise-wide strategic programs’ execution to successful completion (such as cross-functional, multi-phase, multi-year, million-dollar projects that may involve new technology or multiple systems):

  • Drives the creation and delivery of program plans and timelines, business cases and corresponding return on investment estimates and forecasts

  • Provides coordination, direction, communication, and status reporting for the program to all relevant stakeholders

  • Drives the adoption and sustainment of changes within the program in compliance with EMC’s Change Management framework

  • Drives the alignment of programs with strategic goals and long-term views

  • Ensures alignment of programs and performance metrics across the enterprise

  • Provides communication for ongoing support, decision making, and tracking of programs

Manages enterprise-wide strategic programs’ visioning and planning to successful completion:

  • Determines how initiatives should be broken down, organized, and scoped out in support of corporate strategic goals and objectives to achieve the desired outcome for the program in support of strategic business needs

  • Engages with EMC leadership and key stakeholders to drive strategic alignment and decision making

  • Leads and facilitates issue resolution and ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, monitored and controlled

  • Leads multiple teams in the development of estimates and cost-benefit analysis, project delivery and resource plans, schedules and dependencies

  • Assess costs, benefits and risks, and risk response through effective action and appropriate resolution

  • Provides overall vision and guidance to the program, builds consensus, and support throughout the program lifecycle

  • Utilizes risk management practices to address execution challenges associated with quality, schedule and cost, in adherence with project management framework

  • Oversees program planning, execution, and deployment. Reviews, discusses, submits and/or approves all change requests and deliverables

  • Drives the adoption and sustainment of changes within the program in compliance with EMC’s Change Management framework

  • Facilitates information collection and documentation, work categorization, and prioritization involved with portfolio of enterprise-wide strategic programs

Manages enterprise-wide programs to promote collaboration and ensure accountability:  

  • Works with business partners to identify resources, assemble project teams, and assign responsibilities across the working group

  • Drives collaboration among the initiative leaders, project managers and the delivery teams

  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to develop a robust risk mitigation plan

  • Clearly defines project roles, responsibilities, and expectations to ensure appropriate accountability

  • Creates awareness, accountability and alignment for program resources, ensuring deadlines are being met and employees are focused on the value-add activities in the order of priority

  • Clears roadblocks across all initiatives. Escalates issues to sponsor and/or executive committees as needed

  • Monitors project execution to deliver incremental business value

  • Collaborates with program leaders on direction and methodology

  • Conducts trainings and provides support on non-strategic initiative projects as part of a center of enablement, including teaching project methodolgy capabilities

Partners with the Agile Delivery Enablement team for a consistent, company-wide delivery, approach and continuous improvement for business analysis, project and program management, and Agile delivery to ensure a project alignment with the overall strategy and objectives of the organization.

Mentors and coaches peers on best practices and project methodologies. Maintains an on-going knowledge base of new and changing program management, project management, and business analysis tools, skills, terminology, and processes. Assists with departmental communications and website content, as well as maintaining and improving the portfolio, program, and project management software used in support.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, management, computer science, or insurance or equivalent relevant experience

  • Ten years of experience in project and/or program management or related experience

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute - Agile Certified Practitioner) designations preferred

  • Insurance designations preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership, mentorship and relationships building skills

  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of project management

  • Sound understanding of Agile methodology and business analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, influencing and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to distill and communicate highly complex issues for technical and non-technical audience

  • Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines

  • Ability to distill and communicate highly complex issues for technical and non-technical audience

  • Working knowledge of change management concepts and practices

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Occasional travel required; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving

The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following:

$103,954 - $149,372 or $114,895 - $164,309

A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
