Summary:

The Senior Production Supervisor supervises the implementation of manufacturing activities in one or more production areas- ensuring safety, quality, and production and cost objectives are met. This position will prioritize production schedules based on product introductions, equipment efficiency, and material supplies.  The position may also be tasked to do research on capital expenditures for equipment; perform/ assign tasks on both direct and indirect labor; develop schedules for training and propose staffing requirements.  The incumbent may also assist with material inventory tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update SOPs to capture best work and safety practices, and give suggestions on MPs or APs as needed to MEs and Management
  • Prepare work schedules, workflow and value stream maps, and determine resource allocations to the production floor. 
  • Train associates on standard manufacturing processes while ensuring all Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) and RBS initiatives are met and sustained.
  • Use RBS principles to communicate and coordinate activities between the manufacturing processes and support functions.
  • Assist with planning costs for the value streams, including labor, production, maintenance, shop supplies, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Lead staffing the production teams: interview, hire, ensure proper training, produce performance appraisals, and provide instruction and recourses for the adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an RBS Champion, spearheading RBS efforts in production such as: Standard Work, Kanban, PSP, the ERP system, and Daily Management.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to quality standards and work instructions.
  • Clearly communicate goal expectations, status, and gaps via Daily Management meetings.
  •  Participate in the development and coordination training programs to ensure cross-training of personnel within the multi-manufacturing cell environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and instruction skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – External/internal:

  • 5 years supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Good written, oral, and presentation skills(communication) with multi-level audiences.
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word etc.)
  • Familiarity with various technical manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated 5S proficiency.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Experience:

  • BS Degree in relevant field, or 5+ years supervisory experience in operations.  
  • 3+ years of ISO experience 
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing / Industrial safety experience

  • Indoor and outdoor work areas to supervise
  • Flexible onsite, 8- hour schedule within the M-F 5AM to 6PM work week
