Job Description:
This role is responsible for the 24-hour, 7-day performance of a Line or Area within a larger Value Stream organization, with full accountability for business results and the overall capability of the operation. As a manager of managers, this role leads a team of shift-based leaders to deliver operational targets while building an engaged, high-performing organization across all shifts.
In this role, you will bring a strong technical foundation, including working knowledge of MSE (TPM), daily management systems, and process controls. This role sets the strategic direction for the area while ensuring consistent implementation and enforcement of established policies and standards, partnering across functions to drive performance, strengthen capability, and deliver safe, quality, and efficient operations.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Business-related disciplines
- 3+ years of direct people leadership experience
- 5+ years of experience in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Strong technical knowledge of processes, equipment, controls, and products, or the ability to develop this knowledge
- Ability to deploy training strategies and effectively develop others
- Understanding of major plant functions with the ability to work across all levels
- Functional knowledge of HACCP concepts
- Experience with plant sanitation practices and procedures
Preferred:
- Cocoa processing experience
- Manage operating teams across shifts to efficiently convert materials into quality products in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner, in line with product specifications and budget targets
- Deliver area performance by influencing and partnering with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Services, Commercial, and Scheduling/Logistics
- Develop and execute elements of the 90-day plan to address losses and build associate capability
- Coach Production Leaders, Continuous Improvement Specialists, and technical resources to strengthen leadership capability and drive accountability in Safety, Quality and Food Safety, Autonomous Maintenance, and team engagement
- Drive associate engagement through a strong foundation of teamwork and individual accountability
- Partner with the Value Stream Manager and Operations support teams to develop and execute short- and long-term strategies that improve overall area performance
