Job Overview:
The Senior Production Engineer (HVAC Discipline) uses best practices and knowledge to improve the production discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experiences and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the production discipline. The Senior Production Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Guide and ensure discipline production engineer to understand the scope of work, and project schedule.
- Review Work Package and ensure issued base on the fabrication sequence and schedule.
- Develop a work pack index and set priorities and align with project schedule.
- Ensure necessary documentation and compliance with procedural requirements throughout the project phases.
- Review material expediting reports and rise any concern to find mitigation and solution of the concerned parties (i.e. PMT, Project Engineer, Project SCM etc.)
- Initiate site/technical queries to resolve fabrication/construction issues with most effective solution.
- Provide field guidance as necessary and ensure compliance with Project and Company specification.
- Attend production meetings and report concerns.
- Identify any changes or additional work from the original scope and initiate change order as required.
- Monitoring discipline level project fabrication progress within schedule and productivity within targeted budget in coordination with project Fabrication Coordinator.
- Responsible for development fabrication four week look ahead including the prioritization of materials and drawings to suit project schedule and provide input to Fabrication coordinator or PMT for any project issues.
- Lead the Discipline Production Engineering team, to coordinate with stakeholders (i.e. Detailing, Construction Engineer, Material Controllers, etc.) to meet project fabrication requirements.
- Establish a productive working relationship with Project Superintendents & Supervisions to ensure meeting the Fabrication Targets.
- Provide input for project constructability program effort for fabrication. Lead project constructability reviews on a discipline level including resolution of construction problems with intra / inter function interfaces and ensure the work execution plan is based on the most productive option.
- Support project Fabrication Coordinator to manage inter / intra–functional interfaces and project reporting requirements like AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, conducting constructability reviews, etc.
- Supervise discipline Production Engineer and ensure optimal utilization of production engineer resources, including identification of Production Engineer resource needs for the project and communication of these regularly to Fabrication Coordinator.
- Develop and mentor junior Engineers, foster their professional growth and knowledge development.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree S1/D4 in the field of study as follows:
- HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Physics Engineering
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in oil & gas and/or renewable energy fabrication and construction projects in major contractor or consultant.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas onshore / offshore construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of industry code and standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities project execution.
- Relevant training and/or certifications in Project Execution.
- Proven experience in the EPCI industry or a similar Engineering field.
- Proven track record in leading teams and managing large-scale projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
- Understand the strategy to delivering discipline-level fabrication efforts for complex projects, with multinational project team and customer.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
